Thomas Pfeifer Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics

Thomas Pfeifer received his doctoral degree at the University of Würzburg, Germany in 2004. 2005-2008: Research Fellow (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation) and Postdoctoral Research Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) and UC Berkeley. 2009: independent Max-Planck Research Group Leader, since 2014 Director at the Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics, Heidelberg, Germany. 2013: Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz Award of the German Research Foundation (DFG).Research interests: (a) Fundamental quantum dynamics in atoms and molecules; (b) Quantum/Coherent control; (c) Strong-field laser physics.
