Matthias Kling Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU)

Matthias Kling is professor of physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ) in Garching, Germany since 2013. He received his PhD in 2002 from the University of Goettingen in Germany and after postdocs at UC Berkeley, USA, and AMOLF, The Netherlands, moved on to MPQ in 2007 as the leader of an Emmy-Noether group. Between 2009 and 2013 he was professor at the Kansas-State University, USA. The research of his group at LMU/MPQ that is part of the Laboratory for Attosecond Physics led by Ferenc Krausz focuses on attosecond phenomena in molecules and nanostructures in strong laser fields.
